A simple rule of thumb is that truly delicious-tasting food is likely to be high in cholesterol. That is a real shame, and one of the biggest reasons why people struggle so much to keep their bad cholesterol low. However, it doesn't mean that lists of foods with bad cholesterol will leave you with nothing to eat but carrot sticks (carrot sticks are really good at lowering cholesterol, incidentally). Unfortunately, if your cholesterol level is high, you will have to do something to bring that down. After all, your survival is literally at stake.

Lists Of Foods With Bad Cholesterol – Cholesterol Tips:

Eggs:

The first thing that is on the list is eggs. Lots of people eat eggs for breakfast. Unfortunately, they are filled with cholesterol. The question, however, is whether it is good or bad cholesterol. What has now been agreed by most specialists is that eggs on their own are fine. Products that contain eggs as well, however, should be avoided, particularly if you eat regular eggs as well.

Fast Food:

Next, there is fast food. Fast food is quick, easy, and generally pretty tasty. However, it is not healthy nor nutritious enough. All good lists of foods with bad cholesterol will include fast food and quite rightly so. A simple hamburger can hold as much as 175mg of cholesterol, and you'll be left feeling hungry as well.

Ice Cream:

Then, there is ice cream. It is a shame, because ice cream is not only delicious, it is a great treat during the warm spring and hot summer days. Unfortunately, a single cup of ice cream contains as much cholesterol as 10 whole doughnuts. Its fat level is even higher than hamburgers.

Palm Oil:

Palm oil is also something to avoid. This is a surprising one because we are often told that plant oils are low in cholesterol. While this is certainly true, palm oil is the exception to the rule. In addition, remember that coconut is a type of palm, so coconut oil also needs to be scrapped from your list. You can, however, use coconut oil to improve the shine of your hair, skin, and nails (because of the fats in it).

Unhealthy Snacks:

Last but not least, you need to cut down on snacks. Snack food is generally designed to give you some instant gratification, but also some long-lasting drawbacks. A bag of chips can contain huge levels of cholesterol. Not all snacks are bad, however, and you can avoid the bad things by carefully reading the label. Look out for cholesterol as well as for trans fats, which are the ones you should stay away from.

Animal Meats:

There are other foods that are high in bad cholesterol. These include animal meats like beef and poultry, pastries, and most dairy products. Most of the time, foods high in cholesterol are also foods high in trans fats, so that is one to look out for. Just remember that bringing your cholesterol level down can be achieved quite easily by increasing your intake of healthy foods and getting plenty of exercise.
